Fred Ragsdale's New Book "From Russia With Lev" is a Story of Love and Hope as a Man Finds an Orphan Boy in Need of a Father, as Much as He is in Need of a Son.

Fred Ragsdale, a retired program manager in the National Terrorism Preparedness Institute, has completed his most recent book “From Russia with Lev”:  an unbelievable story of a man who prayed for a son, and how the Lord answered his prayers.

This book is a heartfelt narrative from one of the hardest points in the author’s life.  He says, “I asked God for another son, because my first son had stopped communicating with me. However, I had absolutely no idea how God would bring it about. The book is about how God brought it all together in the most amazing way.”

Published by Fulton Books, Fred Ragsdale’s book is a story of unrelenting faith and the power of the Lord working in the lives of the faithful.

Fred Ragsdale suffered through a painful divorce, and the loss of his only son.  He prayed for God to give him another son.  He even told the Lord how to answer his prayer.  “Lord, there are quite a few single moms who have a son who needs a dad. I told God just introduce me to the right woman, and I’ll take it from there.”

But as all Christians know, it will be done in God’s time, not man’s time.

The essence of this book is how God worked everything out for Fred. Fred never had any desire to go to Russia. In fact, Russia was the last place on earth he ever wanted to go. Even when Fred finally agreed to look at adoption, he didn’t really believe it would happen. Fred was a black, single, American man, trying to adopt a blonde, green-eyed Russian boy. The very likelihood of this happening is slim to none. Who says the Lord doesn’t have a sense of humor?

Even though there was roadblock after roadblock, flat rejections by the Russian authorities, and unimaginable difficulties, God just told Fred to trust in Him. Fred didn’t know until the final seconds of this almost two-year adoption process that it would be approved. God did his part, and now Lev has a father, and Fred has the son that he prayed for.
