The Fox Barrel Cider Company announces the first full line of hard pear ciders using naturally fermented 100% pure fresh-pressed pear juice, not from fermented pear-juice concentrate or pear-flavored hard apple cider.

Fox Barrel pure pear ciders are available in 3 elegant, adult, yet sublimely refreshing and easy drinking varietals:

Pacific Pear: Refreshingly adult with a sparkling clean, honeyed pear finish, and a subtle woody complexity complemented by an intense fresh pear bouquet.

Blackberry Pear: An authentic blackberry dark-fruit taste and a sweet sharp fresh tang. Mouthwatering juicy complexity with a luscious pear-berry bouquet.

Apricot Pear: Delicately sweet and a faintly tart. A velvety mouth-feel, with a slight musky complexity, complemented by a fresh-fruit sunny bouquet.

Authentic & Natural

Naturally fermented pure pear juice, filtered cold for extra purity with no added malt, spirit, grape or hard-apple cider alcohols, and no added colorants, sugar, sorbate or benzoate preservatives.

"We set out to redefine and refine pear cider, to move beyond pear flavored hard-apple ciders and to develop nuanced, complex yet very, very easy to drink ciders," says Head Cidermaker, Bruce Nissen. "We looked to our signature cider architecture of a distinctive and forceful upfront nose, with a clean long, grown-up finish as our foundation".

"We very much enjoyed the new challenges of working with fresh pressed pear juice and coaxing the best out of that relationship with yeast during fermentation. We love the slightly woody pectin textures and we are enthused and enamored with the fruit infusions and how well they work with the pear-wine base".
