Foster Care Parents Needed in North Mississippi
Southhaven, MS, April 8, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Mississippi Children’s Home Services (MCHS) is currently looking for individuals and families who want to transform the lives of children and youth. MCHS is in urgent need of foster care parents in North Mississippi.
Children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care due to circumstances involving abuse, neglect and/or exploitation. These children are in need of individuals or families who are willing to open their hearts and homes to provide a temporary safe haven. MCHS believes that all children deserve to grow up in nurturing, stable families. On occasion, it may become necessary for a child to be temporarily placed out of the home. When that happens, MCHS believes that out-of-home placement should be only for a short time with the goal of returning that child to their home or placing that child with a permanent family.
Foster care parents provide a safe, loving environment for children in need. MCHS offers foster care parents 24 hour access to MCHS professional counseling staff as well as initial and on-going training, a well-defined plan of care, support groups, and per diem resources. In the event a child cannot return to their home and they become available for adoption, foster parents often have the opportunity to adopt the child.
For individuals and families interested in learning more about foster care at MCHS and the many different ways you be a part of transforming the lives of these children and youth, we will be hosting an informational session on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the M. R. Davis Public Library, 8554 Northwest Drive, Southaven, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
