Fort Lauderdale Law Firm Promotes Stomach Cancer Funding and Awareness

Online, April 30, 2012 (Newswire.com) - More than 400 people attended the 3rd Annual Dream Makers Gala on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Florida. This Can't Stomach Cancer event was an evening full of cocktails, dinner, dancing, entertainment, and silent and live auctions-raising money for stomach cancer awareness and research.

Jason Chalik, along with Susie Cope and Ani Solarana, helped plan and execute the event "Expect the Unexpected." "I am so pleased to continue to be involved in creating awareness for stomach cancer. There is still so much work to be done, but it's events like this one that help continue the progress of making a cure for stomach cancer a reality," said Jason Chalik, Gala co-chair and founder of Fort Lauderdale injury law firm Chalik & Chalik.

The Gala took place from 7 p.m. to midnight and included an awards ceremony recognizing key individuals that continue to advance the mission of Can't Stomach Cancer, which is to increase funding for stomach cancer research, raise awareness about the disease, and provide education and support internationally to patients, families, and caregivers.

Attendees bid on live auction items including artwork, jewelry, an Atlantis trip, a Costa Rica vacation, Walt Disney passes, a Goodyear Blimp ride, golf packages, spa packages, "Sheriff for a Day," and more.

At the same location during the day, the organization hosted their 2nd Annual Stomach Cancer Symposium where hundreds of patients, family members, and caregivers learned more about stomach cancer from some of the nation's leading experts.
