Former Secretary of the Interior and U.S. Senator, Ken Salazar, Joins Brooks International Speakers Bureau
Online, August 19, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Brooks International Speakers Bureau announces an exclusive partnership with former Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior and U.S. Senator Ken Salazar. Secretary Salazar is available for speaking engagements on the topics of energy, U.S. politics, climate change, and conservation. He continues his work on these issues in his current role as a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.
With immense experience in a wide facet of political roles and more than a decade in public service, Salazar will lend his expertise to speaking engagements addressing:
• Energy - the conventional and renewable energy future of the United States and the world
• Climate Change - the world's warming climate and efforts to address it
• Water - the lifeblood of nations
• Immigration - the need to fix America's broken immigration system
• Politics - the current dysfunction of U.S. political institutions
"As the foremost expert in U.S. natural resources and energy, an international leader in climate change, and a figure with extensive experience in the highest operations of U.S. politics, former Secretary Salazar has tremendous knowledge to share across the world and we are thrilled that he has chosen us to support and represent him," said Maureen Brooks, president, Brooks International Speakers Bureau.
About Salazar
Appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009, Salazar served four years as Secretary of the Interior, directing a vast agency responsible for managing the nation's resources including water, fish, wildlife, mining, public lands and national parks, and maintaining federal relationships with American Indians. During his time as Secretary, he successfully developed and implemented numerous energy initiatives including plans for exploring and expanding renewable energy resources. His numerous conservation efforts included the creation of 10 new national parks and 10 new animal wildlife refuges.
Well-known as the common sense Western pragmatist lawyer, businessman, farmer and rancher, Salazar was elected to the U.S. Senate from Colorado in 2004. Prior to his role in the senate, he served as Colorado's attorney general, natural resources director and legal counsel to former Gov. Roy Romer.
Salazar is currently a partner at one of the nation's top law firms, WilmerHale. He is anchoring a new Colorado-based office while providing legal, strategic and policy advice to national and international clients on matters at the intersection of law, business and public policy.
"Deciding to partner with Brooks International Speakers Bureau-a Colorado-based organization with nearly 30 years of experience matching speakers to the right venues-was an easy decision for me," said Salazar. "I look forward to being able to share my experiences and expertise with groups and organizations around the globe."
