Former S&P Global Managing Director Michael Binz Joins Crypto Asset Rating as Corporate Adviser
NEW YORK, July 1, 2019 (Newswire.com) - In a significant development, Crypto Asset Rating (CAR), the pioneering and independent structured rating agency, has appointed Michael Binz, former Managing Director of S&P Global, as a Corporate Adviser. Binz will bring to CAR an immense and highly valued global experience in structured finance, capital markets and a range of other related fields.
As Corporate Adviser, Michael Binz will help CAR leverage the power and value of transparency and objective measures and opinion. Binz aims to bring confidence and trust to newer corners of the market, such as blockchain and crypto assets and is thus a perfect match for CAR’s global strategy of developing the first transparent, independent rating system for crypto-based assets.
“I am excited about this opportunity to work with Crypto Asset Rating as it is becoming quite clear that the crypto market and blockchain technology will continue to expand, disrupt, and ultimately, have a profound impact on all of our lives. I believe CAR will play a key role in this as cryptocurrencies will ultimately become part of the mainstream financial system across the world,” said Michael Binz.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Michael Binz as a Corporate Adviser at Crypto Asset Rating. Binz carries decades of highly prized experience in the rating industry and at a global level, and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship,” said Pramod Attarde, CEO of Crypto Asset Rating Inc.
Binz was earlier the Managing Director and Global Commercial Head of Structured Finance Ratings at S&P Global Ratings. He carries a successful track record of managing global functions to rebuild brand integrity, talent, and market presence. Among his focus areas are structured finance, capital markets, strategy, change management, sales and relationship building, and credit risk management.
At S&P Global, Binz was instrumental in creating a structured finance ratings business strategy, which was implemented across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. He was earlier the Chief Analytical Manager in the ratings division of S&P Global. Before this, he held the position of AVP & Senior Transactor at GE Capital. Binz holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Economics and Accounting from the Hendrix College.
Binz believes that CAR is filling a void in the rapidly evolving crypto market by creating a comprehensive, transparent and conflict-free rating platform built on blockchain technology. The other product, Crypto Business World, will expand the world’s knowledge and understanding of what is still an obscure and intimidating space for many people.
Crypto Asset Rating is playing a pioneering role in the still hugely unregulated and unorganized crypto and blockchain markets. Its rating framework will be the first-of-its-kind system that offers an independent evaluation of the trustworthiness and reliability of ICOs and crypto assets based on 125+ quantitative and qualitative parameters across 15 categories. CAR ratings will help investors, entrepreneurs and other market participants to make informed decisions, filter out dubious and untrustworthy projects, and avoid falling victim to fraud or fruitless ventures.
CAR is also developing Crypto Business World, where expert analysts will share in-depth and insightful content to inform the global crypto audience. The platform content will include articles, news, reports, interviews, videos, podcasts, case studies, webinars and more. The entire CAR ecosystem thus aims to introduce the much-needed elements of reliability and trust into the revolutionary world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.
