SEATTLE - foneFrame mobile schema from Azalea Software is now a Kickstarter project: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/JetCityOrange/foneframe-a-mobile-web-framework foneFrame creates mobile web pages for smartphones like Android and iPhone. "Making mobile web pages in HTML5 isn't easy, so I created a set of templates to work from. Before you know it, I've designed a complete mobile web framework." says Jerry Whiting, Azalea Software's Pres & CEO. "Then I got to thinking: why not use the foneFrame to build web apps? And a skin for Twitter feeds? With cryptography for authentication? So I did."

Built using HTML5 & CSS3, foneFrame is free and is released under Creative Commons. On top of that, the basic framework is hosted in the cloud for ease of use and decreased latency.

"After 9 months of working on foneFrame in the dark of night, few if any of my friends knew what I was doing or what foneFrame did. What better time to launch a Kickstarter project!" continued Whiting. "I was inspired by the role social media and cell phones played in The Arab Spring and the #OccupyWallStreet movement. foneFrame is a growing suite of tools for web designers, developers, and organizations alike."

The foneFrame schema is implemented in:
- a set of templates foneFrame.com/fF/
- an online generator for web pages foneFrame.com/write/
- an online generator for RSS feeds foneFrame.com/RSS/
- a fun Twitter hack foneFrame.com/Twitter/

Developed as a "skunkworks" project with very limited resources, a successful Kickstarter campaign will allow foneFrame to grow and expand. Money from Kickstarter will result in faster releases, more new features, and translation into other languages like Chinese, Tibetan, Burmese, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, & Korean.

Kickstarter [ www.kickstarter.com ] is a new way to fund creative projects. Supporters give money to projects they believe in, in what can be described as "crowd-sourced fundraising". Members pledged $99,344,382 for 11,836 projects in 2011, $4,673,470 of which was for a total of 125 technology projects including hardware and software.
