First Key to Passaic County New Jersey Presented to Stephen R. Tilton, Jr.
The County of Passaic in New Jersey is proud to announce the first ever Key to the County has been awarded to Stephen R. Tilton, Jr., of Schumacher Chevrolet and Give the Kids Hope Foundation.
Passaic Colunty, NJ, August 16, 2016 (Newswire.com) - The first-ever " Key to the County" of Passaic County, New Jersey has been awarded to Stephen R. Tilton, Jr., of Schumacher Chevrolet and Give the Kids Hope Foundation.
The award was presented on May 16th at the David Harris Golf Outing, a fundraising event that has been held every year since 2009 to benefit Passaic County’s Camp Hope. The event is sponsored by David Harris, #52 of the New York Jets and the Give the Kids Hope Foundation. As the founder and President of the Foundation the Key to the County was given to Stephen Tilton, Jr. by Freeholder Director TJ Best. This is the first time an award of this magnitude was ever given to an individual for their dedication and devotion to a County agency.

Since becoming affiliated with Camp Hope after a near death experience, Mr. Tilton has continued to be a source of inspiration to the Camp staff, but also to the Board of Chosen Freeholders. He has been instrumental in over $150,000 worth of upgrades to the campgrounds. Stephen R. Tilton, Jr. has provided Camp Hope with a heater for the pool water well, a safety coated basketball court, arts-n-craft supplies, removed dilapidated buildings, and the creation and upgrade of others, just to name of few contributions that he has given to the County’s 78 year old recreational facility.
“As a West Milford resident, I have seen the remarkable changes that Stephen Tilton achieved,” said Freeholder Terry Duffy. “Camp Hope is a hidden gem, and the passion of Stephen Tilton and the rest of Give the Kids Hope Foundation have earned them this recognition.”
About Camp Hope: Camp Hope is 62 acre County facility that offers underprivileged children from Passaic County the opportunity to come to the West Milford campground to escape cramped urban environments and enjoy nature.
