First Car Rental Applies No-Smoking Policy To All Car Hire Vehicles
First Car Rental has announced that all their vehicles are smoke-free under a new policy that prohibits smoking in its rental vehicles effective from 11th October.
Online, October 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - First Car Rental has announced that all their vehicles are smoke-free under a new policy that prohibits smoking in its rental vehicles effective from 11th October. Second-hand smoke toxins and residue can stay in the fabric of a vehicle anywhere from a few hours to a few months after exposure.

This new policy is designed to ensure that we are enhancing the comfort of our customers, which is a priority at First Car Rental."
To assist in compliance with the new smoke-free policy, First Car Rental have removed all lighters from their vehicles.
When a vehicle must be cleaned of tobacco smoke odour and residue, the process takes considerably longer. First Car Rental will soon launch a new inspection procedure and will consider a cleaning fee penalty if vehicles are returned with cigarette odour or residue.
