Fayetteville Technical Community College Invests $10 Million in New Buildings to Accommodate the County's Significant Growth

(SAN DIEGO, CA) - Supply Chain Digital spoke with the President of Fayetteville Technology Community College, Larry Keen, to learn more about the growth of this North Carolina-based school.

In implementing Six Sigma, Fayetteville Tech has gone through an intensive process of reviewing and assessing every category within the institution. By utilizing WEAVEonline, the school has been able to identify areas that could use improving.

Fayetteville Tech has recently investing around $10 million for buying, tearing down and rebuilding an adjacent facility. The school is also building a 'western campus' on the western part of the county to accommodate the growing population of the community.

The college is taking action to minimize its carbon footprint. By implementing a number of green or sustainable initiatives-like a storm-water reclamation project, solar panel installation and motion sensor lighting installations-the school is doing its part in helping the environment.

Fayetteville Tech follows a very definitive process in investing in major expenditures. Keen says, "We go through to figure out exactly what we need, and what we want-whether it's equipment, buildings, vehicles, personnel supplies, staffing."
