Family of Ahmed Mohamed Has Retained Legal Counsel
Dallas, TX, September 23, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Ahmed Mohamed, the fourteen year old boy who was arrested in Irving for bringing a homemade alarm clock to school, is no longer enrolled in the Irving school district. His family has pulled him and two other siblings out of the Irving School District because of religious persecution and made the decision to homeschool the children. The family has now hired two Dallas attorneys, Thomas Bowers and Reggie London, to pursue Ahmed’s legal rights and regain his science project from the Irving Police Department.
The family hired lawyers Thomas Bowers and Reggie London on Tuesday on behalf of their son since his civil and legal rights were compromised. Famed lawyer Thomas Bowers has handled high profile cases before. Most notably, Jana Weckerly in her sexual assault case versus Dallas Cowboys owner and billionaire, Jerry Jones, and is currently suing billionaire T. Boone Pickens in a family dispute with his son Michael Pickens. The family says that Ahmed has been severely traumatized. The family wants justice and to ensure no family will ever have to experience what Ahmed went through again. Mr. Bowers and Mr. London are concerned that the proper protocol and procedures were not followed and that this will be a psychological blemish on the fourteen year old boy. At this time the family asks that all questions be directed to the lawyers and all interviews will be scheduled by Universal Media Group (UMG).
