Facebook, Inc Implements Additional Guidelines Concerning Alcohol Advertisements

Today, the largest social network in the world, Facebook Inc, announced updates to their protocols concerning alcohol advertisement on their network. These new rules will ensure a safer environment for users of the network,

Facebook is making it more difficult for ads depicting alcohol, or ads claiming that alcohol is healthy to appear on the network. The list of changes made is extensive but following updates are important. All ads with alcohol content must now be targeted by country. Previously advertisers could circumvent the age restrictions set to 21 by Facebook, Inc, but advertisers are now forced to obey since ads must be targeted with a country as well.

Implementing new and tougher rules, Facebook, Inc forces advertisers to comply with age restrictions within the targeted country. Ads can no longer target any users in a set of Middle Eastern countries where alcohol ads are prohibited, and no ads depicting drinkers under legal age are longer allowed on Facebook.

These new changes are all in line with Facebook's attempt to create a more safe and secure environment for all its users.
