Exclusive Movie Screening Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend April 18

'Rockabilly Weekends - 21 Years of Viva Las Vegas' Film Debuts April 18

Rockabilly Weekend - 21 Years of Viva Las Vegas

'Rockabilly Weekends – 21 Years of Viva Las Vegas' by Big Brands Films will make its cinematic debut to film industry professionals, celebrities and VIP guests at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 inside the Orleans Showroom as a featured part of this year’s Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend (April 18-21).

“While music is the most import part of Viva Las Vegas, the film, like the weekend event itself, brings together several cultures that aren’t really represented in the mainstream,” said executive producer, Louie Comella. “All of our film projects serve to capture rockabilly culture in a way that showcases the rockabilly subculture for the mainstream.”

Thursday’s VIP debut will also feature a glimpse at three of Comella and Big Brand Films’s other TV series that are closely tied to rockabilly culture: ‘Modern Burlesque’; ‘Car Show Classics’; and ‘Radio Dolls.’

Comella’s latest film series serves to capture rockabilly culture in a way that showcases the subculture for the mainstream. These are part of limited engagements as each makes their way to distribution.

‘Rockabilly Weekends’ looks back on the 21 years of Viva Las Vegas from its beginnings in 1998 at the Gold Coast through last year’s event at The Orleans that included a Stray Cats reunion show. Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend chronicles the experience through interviews with founder Tom Ingram and performing artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, The Reverend Horton Heat along with Dita Von Tease. The filming of the Rockabilly Weekends movie was completed after the 2018 Viva Las Vegas weekend at The Orleans.

This year’s weekend event is expected to attract roughly 30,000 attendees. It is estimated that the event has attracted over a million visitors to Las Vegas since it started.
