First-Ever East Mediterranean/Harlem Blues Concert

New York, NY – April 12, 2016 -- A night of blues like you’ve never heard blues before. Join us for a a first-of-its-kind musical event bringing together two forms of blues -- African-American and Greek -- at St. Peter’s Church at Citicorp Center 619 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10022) on April 14th at 6:30 pm.

The night’s musicians and vocalists will perform in the common language of blues from different continents and cultures.

The blues are universal in nature. The best-known style is the American genre which stems from the African-American folk tradition. The blues of the Eastern Mediterranean are called rembetika, a style that emerged out of Greece and the East Mediterranean.

This special night of musical bridge-building and discovery is presented by the East Mediterranean Business Culture Alliance (EMBCA) with the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce in partnership with The Harlem Music Fest and Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre Group.
