Eurostar Kept Its Relationship Stronge With Siemens With New Dealnig Of €600m

In 2010 Eurostar purchased 10 trains from Siemens which added to their professional bonding. And now in 2011 Siemens will keep their contract of €600m with Eurostar.

As the news came that high court has rejected claims from French rival Alstom as the bidding was declared fraudulent and Siemens will now keep the contract of Eurostar with them. Siemens and Eurostar have old and healthy business relationship. In 2010 Eurostar purchased 10 trains from Siemens which added to their professional bonding. And now in 2011 Siemens will keep their contract of €600m with Eurostar. This contract was finalized only after Bombardier's Derby Factory was beaten by German manufacturing group. This beat was of £3bn contract for Thameslink route. After this beat Eurostar finally decided that they will hang over their new project to Siemens and then contract was finalized.
French National Rail operators is the largest shareholders of Eurostar and even they get involved to make this deal with indigenous manufacturing unit of France. Alstom has also argued that the contract which is finalized contains some substantial terms which are different from original tender. Alstom further added that Eurostar has done some flaws with them regarding tendering process and they will definitely claim their damages back. Head of Siemens has refused Alstom statement and said that the contract is fully fair and transparent. He continued that they have not done any flaws with Alstom and there are no frauds in tendering process. Siemens has also planning to sign a contract for making 1200 carriages for the Thameslink route and these new trains will be best in terms of quality and security. All trains will be tested and will be measured on all security grounds. The transport secretary of Thameslink made a discussion with TUC and rail unions and then decided that he would not refuse Siemens as a preferred bidder.
