Equestrian Celebrates Veterans Day with Raised Flag
Horsewoman Shannan Hearne, owner of http://www.SuccessPromotions.com will celebrate Veterans Day astride a horse with a raised American flag to remind everyone to thank a Veteran.
Online, November 11, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Today, Veterans Day, in Clover, SC, Shannan Hearne will be riding her horses Rosa and Raja along Ridge Road with an American Flag flying to remind people to thank a Veteran. Shannan Hearne is the owner of internet marketing company http://www.SuccessPromotions.com, mother of three teenage daughters, and resident of Clover, at 1153 Hidden Brook Lane. Ms. Hearne will be seen along Ridge Road from 2 PM until after the five o'clock work traffic gets home. Ms. Hearne keeps her horses at Iron Gate Farm (http://www.irongatefarm.info/). Iron Gate Farm is a full service boarding, training, and lesson facility run by Ms. Caitlin Fletcher.
Ms. Hearne formerly performed on a mounted drill team with both horses, and has carried numerous flags. This will be her first ride with the American flag.
In many parts of the country, mounted drill teams are highly competitive team events coupling fast horses and beautiful women with flags and routines set to music. The American flag on any team always enters the arena first and when presented all other flags literally dip in respect. Today, unless anyone chooses to join Ms. Hearne only the American flag will be presented.
Horses learn to carry the flags with much practice, and a good windy day can add plenty of speed and excitement to the mounted flag team events. Rosa is a 3/4 Arabian Paint cross five year old mare who has carried flags for two years. Rajah is a full Arabian 20 year old gelding with much more flag experience.
Iron Gate Farm opened in March of 2008. Caitlin Fletcher is formerly of the Palisades riding facility. Iron Gate Farm is the equestrian gem of the Iron Gate Farm Community presented by developer Robert Yon.
