The Soweto Wine Festival is fast making a name for itself as one of the trendiest South African wine festivals, bringing together the who's who of Jozi against the energetic backdrop of Soweto.

One of the most popular annual events in Soweto, the festival features more than 800 wines from around 100 South African producers, including award-winning labels and empowerment wine brands.

Visitors are treated to a free glass of wine on entry and provided with a festival tasting booklet to guide their journey through the hundreds of wines on offer.

In between tastings, you can explore lifestyle exhibitions, take wine classes, visit the Wine Business Education Arena or grab a bite to eat the food court.

This year will also see the Soweto Wine Festival launching the new Soweto Wine Shop at the event, together with Norman Goodfellows, which promises to offer a one-stop-shop retail wine experience.

So make a night of it; dress up and get down to the Soweto Wine Festival and see exactly how to sniff, swirl and slurp Soweto-style.
