EnCirca Brings Back 10-Year Blocks in .XXX Domain

Online, May 3, 2013 (Newswire.com) - EnCirca announces special pricing during the month of May for a 10-year block in the .XXX adult domain. Eligibility is open to all businesses who would like to protect their company or brand name in .XXX, the domain for adult content. The special price is just $120 for the 10-year block, representing just a cost of just $12/year.

.XXX launched in 2011 as the new sponsored top-level domain specifically designed for the online adult entertainment industry. At its launch in 2011, only registered trademark owners were given the opportunity to block their trademark in the new .XXX domain. The .XXX domain is used exclusively for websites featuring adult-related content.

Fast forward two years later - EnCirca is now offering a 10-year Block for any interested business or brand. These blocks do not resolve as websites. There are no longer requirements that the block must be for a registered trademark. Any business name or product name is eligible for the 10-year block.

"Many businesses were unable to block their brand names in .XXX back in 2011 because they did not have a registered trademark", says Tom Barrett of EnCirca. "Now any business can block their brand for nearly half the cost of the original trademark block."

In addition, owners of .XXX domains will automatically be grandfathered in for blocks in three other adult-related TLDs when launched by the .XXX registry. However, the launch of any of these strings is not guaranteed. There is also another applicant for one of them and it's possible that the .XXX registry may not be awarded this string.

EnCirca is taking advantage of special Registry pricing to offer these 10-year blocks. Companies may register for less than 10 years for just $12/year but would pay much more annual renewals. The special pricing will end on May 31.
