Blackley Holdings Ltd has announced the sale of its subsidiary, Reaxa Ltd, the UK-based encapsulated catalyst technology company, to S Amit & Co of Mumbai, India.
The deal follows the earlier divestment to Johnson Matthey of Reaxa's QuadraPure™ and QuadraSil™ metal scavenging technologies in July 2010.
The deal follows a long-term strategic shareholding and commercial partnership between Reaxa and S Amit.
The acquisition has been undertaken via the Indian supply-chain venture Reaxa Chemistry Solutions Pvt Ltd.The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The acquisition of Reaxa will allow UK-based staff to concentrate on the development of Reaxa's EnCat™ catalyst technologies and applications, in particular using Reaxa's new nickel EnCat™ (Ni EnCat™) immobilized nickel
catalysts
Indian operations will concentrate on bulk scale production of EnCat™ products as well as supporting manufacture of drug intermediates and APIs using the EnCat™ technology.
