Ember Technologies Appoints Tom Johnstone as Chief Marketing Officer

Former Chief Development Officer of Global Ad Agency 72andSunny will Define and Champion a New Category for Temperature Control Products

As CMO, Johnstone will be responsible for strategically defining Ember’s brand and global marketing initiatives to drive sales and revenue, and will solidify Ember as a leading consumer product/lifestyle company. Johnstone was most recently Chief Development Officer at 72andSunny, the global advertising agency responsible for award-winning campaigns for brands such as Samsung, Google, and Adidas.

The youngest C-level executive at 72andSunny, Johnstone is credited for bringing clients such as eBay, General Mills and Instagram to the agency. Johnstone also led strategy for the U.S. and global Samsung mobile account, helping raise Samsung’s market share in the U.S. from fifth to first in just over two years. Samsung was also recognized as Cannes Lion’s “Advertiser of the Year” during this time. Johnstone is also responsible for driving the winning creative strategy for Los Angeles’ 2024 Olympic bid, working with L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti to rebrand the city and modernize its image.
