Toronto based fashion e-commerce retailer and publisher, eLUXE, is pleased to announce the securing of new financing for 2013-14, as well as the appointments of new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Growth Officer.

In an exciting development for the contemporary designer E-tailer, eLUXE has closed on a $2.1 million round of financing by notable early stage investors. These include Silicon Valley's Just Business, Ontario's Courtney Ventures Inc., and Silicon Alley entrepreneur and executive Mike Keriakos. This funding will contribute to the ongoing expansion of eLUXE's retail and media of this notable rising company.

eLUXE is also announcing the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, Duke McKenzie. Formerly Senior Vice President of Sales at Mediative (a Yellow Media Company), McKenzie brings 18 years of successful early stage company management, digital media and e-commerce experience to eLUXE. McKenzie played a key role in the ongoing and past successes of companies, such as UpTrend Media Inc. (which was sold to Yellow Media Inc. in October 2010), AOL Canada and New York-based Shopping.com. McKenzie was also selected as one of Canada's top 40 under 40 by the Globe & Mail in 2011.

"eLUXE is a leader in the online retail industry and I am excited to help guide our continued growth," says McKenzie. "Retail and media have evolved, in fact they are converging. Consumers now expect content to be readable, watchable and shoppable-and eLUXE is on the forefront of fulfilling this expectation."

Also coming on board as Chief Growth Officer is Steve McPhee who brings over 16 years of business development and marketing experience and joins eLUXE from Makeover Solutions Inc., where he was co-founder and Vice President of Marketing. McPhee grew Makeover Solutions into a market leader and led the sale of the company to New York-based fashion media platform StyleCaster in 2012.

With these new appointments, eLUXE Founder Joanna Track has transitioned from her position as CEO to join the board of directors, and will be working on advising eLUXE on strategic initiatives.
"Building eLUXE to become a leading Canadian brand has been an amazing and rewarding experience for me. I am very proud of the company's accomplishments.

In the last two years eLUXE has been a pioneer in bringing e-commerce to Canada and I am excited to see this team take eLUXE to the next successful stage of growth," says Track.
