Online, February 27, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Goodall and Green School share a common vision for individuals to learn about pertinent issues facing global communities and to improve the quality of life of all living things. Both also share a strong focus on bettering the lives of local people. Dr. Goodall's global youth program, Roots & Shoots, inspires young people of all ages to become involved in hands on programs for their local community, for animals and the environment we all share. This is a philosophy central to Green School's work to develop young environmental leaders for the future.
"We are so delighted to have Dr. Goodall come to Green School to address our community and graduates. As a school with a focus on environmental and sustainability issues we could not imagine a speaker with more impact to address our graduates. She has inspired people from all over the world and she will leave an indelible impression on our community and Bali," said Chris Thompson, General Manager of Green School Bali.
"I am looking forward to my first visit to Bali and to meeting those involved in conserving the wildlife there and educating future generations to care for our world. I hope there will soon be many new groups of Roots & Shoots joining our global family of committed young people," said Jane Goodall.
Dr. Goodall will also spend a day with Green School students to celebrate more than half a century of research into the Chimpanzees of Gombe and the associated community conservation programmes on Monday, June 16. The students will commemorate the day with music performances, plays and tributes to Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots global youth programme.
