The mission of Smile for a Lifetime is to create self-confidence, inspire hope, and change the lives of youth in our community in a dramatic way. The gift of a smile can do all this for deserving, underserved individuals who, in turn, can use this gift to better themselves and one day "pay it forward" and give back to the community that once gave to them.
The Smile for a Lifetime Foundation is a nonprofit organization with local chapters spanning the country. The foundation provides orthodontists with the resources they need to develop a successful local Board of Directors who then select applicants for orthodontic treatment. The Board is made up of professionals in the medical and dental fields along with other members of the local community.
Applicants between the ages of 10 and 18 in need of orthodontic treatment and financial support are encouraged to apply. They will be asked to fill out an application, provide two letters of recommendation and present a picture of themselves smiling for review. Each applicant will be notified of their status during the selection process, and if approved, will qualify for free orthodontic treatment.
