DPOH Entertainment and Capital K Pictures Collaborate as Partners in Crime - Short Film Project "Walking Maris' Way"

DPOH Entertainment and Capital K Pictures collaborate, as partners in crime, on the City Life Productions Short Film Walking Maris' Way, written by Raymond Boone and Katherine Rodriguez. The production is slated for an Early Spring start date throughout Manhattan, NY.

Walking Maris' Way, is a short film based on the everyday experiences of Detective Maris Ortiz, a Latino female who must balance family life with the demands of a male dominated, and bureaucratic New York Police Department. Detective Maris Ortiz consistently masters her craft in criminal psychology to her colleagues' dismay, yet finds herself at the ready every time a curve ball is thrown her way as she walks into the precinct and while walking the streets fighting crime in New York City.

DPOH Entertainment (aka Diversity Players of Harlem) strives to ensure education and enlightenment opportunities through diverse forms of artistic and creative medium. It is their ultimate goal to nurture youth of undiscovered talents, and produce platforms for artists of various backgrounds. The organization consisting of Shawn Luckey and Dwight Ali Williams believes that effectively meeting their goal will cure some of the societal ills affecting our communities. As a result, this NY-based theatre company has produced nearly twenty productions ranging from music revues to the Off-Broadway play, Die Laughing by Marq Overton, which starred "Uptown" Kevin Brown of NBC's Emmy-Award Winning Show, 30 Rock. Capital K Pictures is a NY-based production house founded by Sofian Khan and Donald Dalessio. By generating a wide array of media from inventive low-budget music videos to eye-catching web viral, the organization has elevated to producing several projects featured in international film festivals. In 2007, their feature film Ramchand Pakistani was showcased at Tribeca Film Festival and later received a theatrical release in the UK and India. In addition, their short film Small Voices was featured in over twenty film festivals, including winning 2008 Best Short Film in HBO sponsored South Asian International Film Festival.
