Downtown Alhambra Kicks Off Holidays on Nov. 25 With Small Business Saturday and Tree Lighting Ceremony

Downtown Alhambra kicks off the holidays with “Small Business Saturday” and the city’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 25. The Downtown Alhambra Business Association (DABA), in concert with the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce, is sponsoring these two events, and hopes to draw more consumer traffic to the area, which has undergone a revitalization process within the last several years.

Small Business Saturday (SBS), in partnership with American Express, is a nationwide initiative to encourage shoppers to support small, local businesses during the holiday season. In this spirit, select Downtown Alhambra shops are offering special deals to customers on Nov. 25. According to current DABA president, Liza Rodriguez, “We are excited that 40 businesses are participating in SBS this year. Customers can visit and experience the city’s amazing and diverse eateries, unique specialty shops, fashionable apparel stores, and great service offerings!”

Small Business Saturday and the Tree Lighting Ceremony are great ways for local residents, as well as new visitors to get to know our community, neighborhood and city. We hope everyone comes down to celebrate the season with us, and to support small businesses.

Stephen Sham, Mayor of Alhambra, California

This year’s roster of small businesses includes Tokyo Table, Ohana Brewing Co, Vinos at Trios, Charlie’s Trio Café, 38 Degrees, Shakas, Blockheads Shavery, Budda Belly Modern Kitchen, T4 Tea for You, Alondra Hot Wings, Side Bar Grill, Los Amigos, 85C Bakery Café, Diner on Main, Earth Kitchen, Grill’em All, Maido Stationary, Gallery Nucleus, Toyzilla, Julhead Piercing, Spades Nail Parlour, TONYMOLY Cosmetics, Sole Stage, Beach Bliss, Caps Paradise, Vidorra, In Motion Sports, Shiau Optometry, Big T Mini Mart, Marini Music, PopRock Academy, The Fit Factor Studio, McCormick’s Pet Emporium + more.

Later on in the evening, Alhambra continues the holiday festivities with a Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6 p.m. -9 p.m., at Edwards Renaissance Theatre on the corner of Garfield and Main Street.
