New York, NY - July 5, 2010 - - Diversity Players of Harlem aka DPOH Entertainment introduces acting classes and talent showcase for teens and children in midtown Manhattan at the Roy Arias Studios and Theaters in the Times Square Arts Center at 300 W. 43rd Street 4th Floor New York, NY 10036
"Acting is Fun" for Children 8 to 12
Instructor: Claudia McLain
15 Week Program Saturdays 10am to 2pm Starting August 14 - November 20, 2010
Classes are $40.00 per class that is $10.00 per hour
Scholarships Available by attending auditions on July 17, 2010
This course will provide a fun and comfortable platform for beginning acting students. There will be a wide range of assessment strategies based on instructional outcomes. Course content is strategically planned to enable participants to learn, as well as practice basic acting skills in the form of monologues, auditions, theatrical scenes, improvisational activities, and a group performance at the end of the course.
Instructor: Claudia McLain is actively pursuing a career in performing arts and is also earning her Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Claudia has had several years of working in education as a Licensed Family Child Care Provider and Preschool teacher, Christian Camp Counselor, Sunday School teacher, and presently, as an acting teacher and elementary / middle school student teacher (K-8).
"The ABC's of Acting" for Teens 13 and above

The purpose of this workshop is to create a community of young artist who are educated about the craft of acting. This workshop is also meant to stimulate young actor's individual creativeness and imagination toward becoming great theater artists
Using world renowned technique of "The Method" as created by Constantine Stanislavsky and further developed by Lee Strasberg. This course is based upon the A B Cs of acting. These are building blocks for great acting. The A B Cs of Acting are: An Actor Prepares *Building a Character *Creating a Role
Instructor: Pernell Walker holds a M.F.A in acting from Actor's Studio Drama School and a B.A in Theater from City College. She is a working actress that just wrapped production on the award winning film, Pariah, in the role of Laura. Besides Pariah she is active on stage and in other film and tv projects.
