Worshippers of the Hindu faith converge on Indian destination increasing city's hotel business says online hotel booking site

With many popular destinations in India preparing for the important Hindu festival of Naga Panchami this year, hotel rooms available in cities like Bangalore are seeing increased levels of bookings as worshippers heading there book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Naga Panchami is one of the most significant events in the Hindu faith and has a major place in the religion's history and origins. Each year sees many Hindus make a pilgrimage to India to take part in the festivities.

This year sees the event held on July 10 and already Bangalore hotels are seeing increased booking levels ahead of the festival. Cities including Bengal and Maharashtra have also reported high levels of advance accommodation reservations.

Naga Panchami is the time of year when Hindus celebrate their revered snake and cobra gods with offerings of fruit and flowers and the festival also includes a one-day fast.
