Digital Dogs Adds New Level of Social Media Integration to Services

Digital Dogs, a web design and Internet marketing firm, has implemented a new level of social media integration into the web development services it offers clients.

For a recent website project, Digital Dogs, a web design and development company, incorporated social media capabilities that were a new addition to the company's line of services. The new services were created for Riinu.com and feature API integration that allows users to find and invite friends from other networks to participate in the website's online community.

"We've worked with different aspects of social media on websites before," said Natasha Tomecak, Project Manager at Digital Dogs. "However, the API integration with Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo! and Gmail was a new area for us. It's exciting to see it in place after the work we put into it."

With this social media integration, members of the Riinu website can easily invite Facebook friends, Twitter followers and contacts in Yahoo! and Gmail to join the Riinu online community. Another unique aspect of the website for Digital Dogs was its combination of the Symfony PHP web framework in the Amazon Cloud. While the company has worked with both platforms in the past, it had not brought the two together on one project.

Since familiarizing itself with this level of social media integration on websites, Digital Dogs plans to apply it to other clients' websites moving forward. "This type of social media integration works great for websites that require user interaction and want to grow their member base," said Tomecak. "It's something we definitely foresee implementing on clients' websites in the future."

The Riinu website , which works similarly to online communities like Facebook, encourages people to live healthy by allowing them to record physical activities on the website and earn the opportunity to win monthly prizes (riiwards) based on their activity levels. Riinu partners with local businesses, such as gyms and massage spas, for the prizes it offers members.
