The dates and outline programme for next year´s Queen´s Diamond Jubilee celebrations have been announced.

Queen Elizabeth the Second is the longest serving monarch since Queen Victoria and the weekend of 2nd to 5th of June 2012 has been set aside to allow both the Royal Family and the rest of the population to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee in regal style.

A host of events are being planned to take place in London during the Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend including a Royal Flotilla up the River Thames headed by a Royal Barge upon which the Queen will travel. It is expected that 1,000 boats will participate in this event which will proceed from Putney to Tower Bridge. There will also be firework displays and music to accompany the event.

The Queen will attend The Derby at Epsom Races on the Saturday of the Jubilee weekend - let us just hope that she has more success than at this year´s Derby when her horse Carlton House only managed third place.

On Monday 4th June there will be a televised concert from Buckingham Palace and the Queen will light the last of a series of beacons to be lit across the country. Members not able to attend any of the scheduled events are being encouraged to participate in street parties with their neighbours, much like the Royal Wedding street parties organised for the recent nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Everyone will be able to participate in one form or another as an extra Bank Holiday has also been announced to coincide with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Visitors from the UK and across the globe are expected to visit London during this auspicious time and demand for accommodation will once again be high as witnessed by the recent surge in demand during the Royal Wedding weekend and hotels will ensure that their prices for the Jubilee weekend are at a premium.

An often overlooked alternative to hotel accommodation is that of apartments for rent in London which can be rented on a short term basis and can often be more appropriate than that offered by hotels due to the flexibility of the accommodation offered. This type of serviced accommodation London can provide 1,2, 3, or even 5 bedrooms with separate areas for relaxing and dining together with its own kitchen which offers a lot more appropriate for families or groups. Some even have their own front door so that you can come and go as you please. In such luxury serviced apartments London you can relax, unwind and even prepare a meal at the end of a busy day.

A spokesman for Dolphin House, part of the Dolphin Square complex said "with our location in Westminster we are ideally placed to offer those visiting London for the Diamond Jubilee an excellent base from which to enjoy all that the weekend is likely to offer. Our prices were not increased for the recent Royal Wedding weekend and we do not anticipate raising them for the Jubilee celebrations, so we offer an excellent alternative to the London hotels."
If you are looking forward to the Diamond Jubilee and wish to be in London for the jamboree on offer it would pay to start looking for accommodation now and what better place to start your search than with Dolphin House.
