Diagnostic Testing Was on Display at This Year's CSM in New Orleans

Hands-On Diagnostics Board and Faculty makes a big impact at the 2018 Combined Section Meeting of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Diagnostic Testing

On February 22 - 24, 2018, over 17,000 physical therapy professionals and students convened in New Orleans, LA for what has been described as one of the biggest and best Combined Sections Meetings of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) to date. Moreover, several key members of the Hands-On Diagnostics Board of Directors and the Hands-On Diagnostics Faculty were featured as speakers, panelists, and newly-inducted board members.

“What makes this so unique is that the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) recognizes now more than ever, that incorporating a variety of diagnostic testing in physical therapy practice, is a viable option for better treatment outcomes and a great reimbursement solution. Our efforts to raise awareness and education about diagnostics for physical therapy is not falling on deaf ears, but rather falling on very influential ears within the APTA community,” says Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos.

Advocacy on this level is also great news for patients because now it opens the doors for them to receive even better, more efficient and accurate care from their PTs. It's great news for PTs because adding diagnostics to a practice enhances their ability to create more effective treatment plans for their patients and drastically increases the revenue for their practices. These tests are payable to PTs by insurance.

This event opened the road for positive changes in the nation and within the profession overall.
