Demguyz recently-completed line of artwork offers an upbeat reprieve from negative labor news by focusing on honoring working -class people with lighthearted depictions of various jobs and trades.

Green Bay artist Mike Fink felt the average working person typically has little reason to view their work as anything more than a paycheck. Many once-honored forms of labor are eschewed as substandard today, students studying hard to stay as far away from hard physical work as possible. Fink's own work experience of over 25 years of factory and metalshop work qualifies the unique insight visible in each piece of art. Dubbed as "Blue collar fine art", Demguyz portray the character of people struggling, forging ahead, and busting a gut with taste and style. The heart of the work is it's passion to re-ignite a sense of pride and purpose in the American worker, at a time when most reports seem to paint a dark picture for them, and many feel the work they do doesn't matter. Demguyz began nearly 3 years ago, and was birthed from an old cartoon Fink's wife found. The people depicted are from a wide range of diverse workers, and the viewer is treated to a mini-story in each piece. A stressed-out waitress deals with a screaming kid, a tow truck driver yawns in the wee hours of the night, a greasy mechanic yells into his cellphone... each bolt, rivet and rusty scratch is noted, eyes roll, foreheads sweat and teeth grit - determination and purpose abound. While the work itself is high quality, and the prints and posters are gallery quality (giclees), Fink felt the cost should be as low as possible , so it would be affordable to the people who would appreciate it the most. The work is a "living body", always being updated and added to. To learn more about the work or it's creator, visit the Demguyz page on facebook.
