DeHaan Busse Joins LIA In "Backpacks For Back To School" Drive

The law firm of DeHaan Busse LLP, along with other local businesses, supports Long Island education.

Hauppauge, NY, July 20, 2010 . . . In response to an invitation from the Long Island Association (LIA), the law firm of DeHaan Busse LLP joined with other concerned LIA business members to help provide much-needed school supplies to Long Island children. The school supplies will be directly donated to the Family Service League's Backpacks for Back to School annual drive. They, in turn, will handle distribution.

Last year, the Family Service League provided school supplies such as backpacks, pens and pencils, markers, notebooks 3-ring binders loose leaf paper and more to 1,700 children from over 800 families. "The slow economic recovery has had a tremendous effect on Long Island families," said John W. DeHaan, partner, DeHaan Busse. "Even the simple necessities such as notebooks and backpacks put a strain on the family budget. We hope that our donations along with the donations of so many other local businesses can help ease the stress - even a little bit."

The attorneys at DeHaan Busse LLP focus on long-term (permanent) disability law including Individual Disability Insurance Policies, Employer Sponsored Benefit (ERISA) Plans, and the Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS. In addition, DeHaanBusse LLP assists Military Veterans during the trying circumstances of claiming and attaining disability benefits owed to them as a result of their dedicated service to this country.
