Debbie Wasserman Schultz Presides Over U.S. Record 10th Straight Year Without 3% Growth in GDP

In the 85 years for which the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) has calculated the annual change in real Growth Domestic Product (GDP), there is only one ten-year stretch—2006 through 2015—when the annual growth in real GDP never hit 3 percent. This is during Debbie Wasserman Schultz' representation of District 23 in the U.S. House of Representatives. Bright Star Pac investigates the GDP, unemployment rate, and labor participation rate numbers.

GDP growth average is abysmally low average under Debbie Wasserman Schultz

In the 85 years for which the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) has calculated the annual change in real Growth Domestic Product (GDP) there is only one ten-year stretch—2006 through 2015—when the annual growth in real GDP never hit 3 percent.

Before this period, the longest stretch of years when real GDP did not grow by at least 3.0 percent, as calculated by the BEA, was the four-year stretch from 1930 to 1933—during the Great Depression.

"The average growth rate for economic recoveries since the 1960s is 3.9 percent ranking the Obama recovery, with an average GDP growth rate of just 2.1 percent, among the slowest in history,"

Senator Dan Coats, Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the former chair of the Democratic National Convention, who resigned after a WikiLeaks report of the alleged rigging of the Democratic Party Primary, is running for re-election as U.S. House of Representatives in Florida's District 23, which encompasses Florida cities from Weston to Miami Beach.  As the incumbent since January of 2005, she has not done much to raise the GDP in the district. The unemployment rate in District 23 is 5.6%, compared to the rest of Florida at 4.7% and the national rate of 4.5%.

Joe Kaufman is the GOP nominee opposing Wasserman Schultz in the November 8th general election.  Based on Wasserman Schultz' negative qualities and actions, many Democrats may display their disappointment, frustration and anger at the lack of jobs in Miami-Dade, and they could end up voting for Kaufman. As Kaufman states, "My appeal to … Bernie Sanders' voters is to vote their conscience and help me bring down the establishment, which Debbie represents. When I get to Washington, I will be the servant to all of my constituents, whether they are Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or anything in between."  There were 21,000 voters who already voted for Tim Canova during the Democratic Party Primary. That was only 7k less than what Debbie received in the Primary. Based on these numbers, many Democrats are disenchanted with their leadership in District 23.

There are currently so many people out of work in Miami-Dade County.
The Economy is hurting and Debbie Wasserman Schultz now has a new job with the Hillary Clinton campaign trying to get Hillary Clinton elected.

The Labor Participation Rate for the nation is at the historic lows similar to the late 70s. Labor Participation Rate is determined by people out of work who are not seeking work on an active basis. Many have simply given up.

http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS11300000 Labor Participation Rate kept going down during Debbie Wasserman Schultz' representation of District 23.

What has Debbie Wasserman Schultz done for African Americans?

African Americans nationwide are hurting during Debbie Wasserman Schultz' representation of District 23, even more during Obama's term these last 8 years.  Home ownership is 4.6% down. Poverty has gone up by 8%.  19% of African Americans are not in the Labor Force.

District 23 Voters will Decide Who They Want to Represent Them in the Election November 8th, 2016. Lingering Questions Remain:

Has the Representation of 23rd District become too comfortable for Debbie Wasserman Schultz?  How can Debbie Wasserman Schultz be trusted to lead the District, when under her tenure presiding over the DNC, its computers were hacked and there were emails showing favoritism to Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders among DNC staffers.
After she resigned in disgrace, she was immediately hired by the Hillary Clinton campaign. Was she hired by Hillary Clinton for loyalty to rig the election for Hillary?  Should voters trust that she is motivated to work for jobs in District 23? Maybe she is distracted trying to help Hillary get elected or get another 2 years as an incumbent?

Voters will be considering the stewardship and leadership of District 23 over the past 10 years when they vote November 8, 2016.
