David M. Jessup Announces New Book - Mariano's Crossing. David Jessup's first novel won first place for mainstream, character-driven fiction in the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Contest. Mariano's Crossing is an imaginative work of "true fiction.

David M. Jessup's first novel, Mariano's Crossing, has just been released.

Mariano's Crossing won first place for mainstream, character-driven fiction in the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Contest and was selected as a finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writers Contest and the Santa Fe Writers Project.

Asked the source of his inspiration, David replies "I love history, but history sometimes can't tell you why things happen. Fiction can supply the missing "why." (boulderwritersworkshop.org/2012/10/21/david-jessup/)

Mariano's Crossing is a work that evolved over a twelve-year period mostly during David's early morning writing sessions in a local coffee shop.

David is currently working on his second book involving Mariano Medina's earlier life.

The initial launch of Mariano's Crossing was on October 12th at Anthology Bookstore in Loveland. David will also be doing an Author Presentation, Book Signing & Reading, this Friday, November 9th, 2012 at 4:30p in the Gertrude Scott room of the Loveland Public Library. The event is open to the public.

David will do a second Author Presentation, Book Signing and Reading at the Page One Book Store, "New Mexico's Largest Independent Bookstore" (Page1Book.com) in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 16th.

David Jessup is co-owner of Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland, Colorado. David introduces low-stress, grass-fed cattle raising methods to guests, and guests to the ways of both the old and the new West.
