CyrusOne Enhances Data Center Security Adding Interlocking Door System
CyrusOne adds high security Door systems across Texas Data Centers to improve security at three Dallas area data centers and others across the state.
Online, November 19, 2009 (Newswire.com) - CyrusOne continues to improve security at it's Dallas area colocation data centers further insuring the integrity of its colocation data centers, CyrusOne has added a state-of-the art, single pass, interlocking door system that prevents piggy-backing and tail gating, allowing the pass of one person at a time. The stainless steel doors require a card and biometric scan, while inside, to allow access.
Users press a button on the outside of the system which opens the front portion of the first door. They are directed to stand in a grey box in the middle of the system. Once the first door closes behind them, the user scans their card and provide a finger print on the biometric system. If successful, the second door opens in front of the user and they are permitted to enter the lobby. Another card scan and fingerprint is required to enter the data center floor.
These doors have already been added to CyrusOne's Houston Galleria, Houston West location and the Austin data centers, with plans to make them standard in all sites.
