CSR VibeHub™ Technology Behind BRAVEN's Truly Portable Networked Audio System

SyncLock™ Adopted by BRAVEN to Bring Unique New Networked Speakers to Market Ahead of the Competition

Audio speaker designer and manufacturer BRAVEN has unveiled the first portable Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi® distributed audio system based on the CSR plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE) VibeHub™ networked audio solution that also utilizes CSR SyncLock™ IP. CSR’s VibeHub platform enables synchronized audio streaming from a wide range of sources, allowing consumers using the BRAVEN Vibe System to place speakers throughout their homes and enjoy an unparalleled multi-room wireless audio experience controlled by their choice of mobile devices.

“Designed specifically for multi-user, multi-streaming scenarios, the BRAVEN Vibe System gives consumers the flexibility to place speakers in different rooms and listen to anything they want in each room,” says Andy Fathollahi, Chief Executive Officer, BRAVEN. “A family can have classical music on in the bedroom, rock in the living room and kitchen, and soul in the dining room, all at one time for synchronized music throughout the house. CSR is the leader in wireless audio and integrating their VibeHub, and its unique SyncLock synchronized audio distribution technology, into our new products gives us the ability to offer a superior wireless networked experience to our customers.”

The VibeHub platform is being used to build wireless speakers, intelligent audio adaptors, networked audio amplifiers and a wide range of other consumer audio products. These devices can simultaneously pull audio content from multiple sources including digital media servers and mobile devices, and distribute them around the home autonomously. The SyncLock technology inside VibeHub-enabled products allows for support of a wide array of connectivity options, including Bluetooth, Bluetooth Smart, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, SPDIF as well as analog for integration with legacy devices in the home.

BRAVEN integrated the Audivo Multiroom Audio Solution (AMAS), which is a turnkey solution based on VibeHub. It allows device manufacturers to quickly develop and easily integrate networked audio capabilities into their products. Andy Fathollahi continues: “We designed Vibe System to be the world’s most comprehensive distributed audio solution and one that is easy to for OEMs to take to market quickly. The ease with which VibeHub was integrated into our products, and the range of features it enables, makes our new product line truly unique. No other platform on the market could get us to mass production as quickly as VibeHub.”

VibeHub’s extensible networking capabilities enable interoperability with a wide range of today’s popular wireless streaming protocols, so consumers are not limited to any specific ecosystem. VibeHub already supports multiple input formats including analogue, input from UPnP sources via Ethernet/WLAN, and Bluetooth with CSR aptX® coding technologies for CD-like audio. The platform is revolutionizing the home audio networking market, and with SyncLock technology’s interoperability, for the first time is allowing users to create fully flexible and personalized connected home audio experiences.

“Our flexible VibeHub platform has allowed BRAVEN to get a high quality, differentiated networked audio solution to market quickly that will allow them to take advantage of what is expected to be a fast growing new market,” said Anthony Murray, Senior Vice President, Business Group at CSR. “We are pleased that BRAVEN was one of the first OEMs to take advantage of the flexibility and interoperability that VibeHub offers. As we engage with a number of other manufacturers we are excited to see fully-featured, truly flexible and easy-to-use distributed audio solutions start to reach store shelves and eager consumers.”

The BRAVEN Vibe System will be available for purchase from November 2014.
