Crabcakes And Oysters At The Preakness Stakes

Local company selected to provide Blue Crab at Pimlico's premier event

Horse racing fans will gather on May 21st, 2011 for the 136th running of the Preakness Stakes and Casey's Crab Company of Laurel, MD will again be offering Maryland's state crustacean to the Pimlico Race Track patrons. After a sucessful performance at Preakness Infieldfest 2010, Casey's will participate in the 2011 event inside Pimlico's Grandstand and Concourse locations. A few items on their menu include Lump Crab Cakes and a Raw Bar featuring fresh shucked Oysters.

Preakness Infieldfest 2011 musical performances include Grammy Winners Bruno Mars, Train and Hotspur on the main stage. The Beer Garden Jägermeister Stage will also feature concerts by Mr Greengenes, Phil Vassar and Puddle of Mudd. Other attractions include an event of the NVL Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, Cornhole Tournament, an Oxygen Bar and The Great Pony-Pigout.

The Preakness Stakes is $1,000,000 Grade I thoroughbred stakes race of 1-3/16 mile for 3 year old horses, held on the third Saturday in May each year at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. The attendance at the Preakness Stakes ranks second in North America and usually surpasses the attendance of all other stakes races except for the Kentucky Derby.
