Coyotes Curling Opens First Ever AZ Curling Facility

The Coyotes Curling Club is proud to announce we've leased property to institute Arizona's first and only dedicated curling club in Tempe, AZ. Yes, the Olympic sport on ice! The ribbon cutting is planned for January 2014, just in time for the 2014

Dedicated Curling Ice is coming to the Valley

Through tremendous member and community support, the Coyotes Curling Club has reached an
agreement to construct Arizona's first dedicated curling facility at 2202 W Medtronic Way, Tempe! It
will be the first dedicated curling facility in Arizona and the only Curling Club in the Southwest.
The Coyotes Curling Club was formed in 2003 shortly after curling grabbed the hearts and
imagination of everyone who tuned in to curling during the 2002 Winter Olympics. For the past ten
years, the Coyotes Curling Club has grown its membership and interest in curling by young and old
alike, teaching over 4000 Valley residents to curl.

By January 2014 our dedicated ice facility will be completed with daily curling activity, during
daytime and evening hours, on week days and weekends. The club will involve every demographic
with plans to have Junior Leagues, Senior Leagues, Young Professionals Leagues, a Wheelchair
League, and Armed Forces League in addition to the standard Men's, Women's, and Mixed leagues.
Open, Private and Corporate Learn-to-Curl events will be held regularly to teach the mechanics and
strategy of the game. Future Olympians will train here.

This "first" for Arizona will also position the Coyotes Curling Club to host national and
international competitions at recreational and elite levels and be the curling club of choice in the US
Curling Association Mountain Pacific Region. An ideal tourist destination, curling competitions here
will bring national and international hospitality revenue to the Valley of the Sun.

The sport of curling originated in Scotland around 1511 and became an Olympic sport in 1924
and the "darling" of the Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002! The game is played by teams of four
people with over 1.3 million players across North America and of all ages. With the countdown to the
2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia less than a year away, the interest in curling across the
United States, and here in Arizona, remains at record highs!
