Copper Hood Featured on TV's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Copperworks contributed a copper range hood and copper countertop for a 2010 episode of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Their exclusive hood design, the Sonoma, is a major focal point for the brand new kitchen on the show.
Online, October 24, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Copperworks, a California-based manufacturer of range hoods and countertops, was a contributor to a recent episode of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
In a project benefiting a widow and her child, the team, lead by Ty Pennington, transformed the home to include a copper range hood over an island with a copper countertop.
Joe Cain, President of Copperworks, states, "When we get an opportunity to work with the amazing team behind Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, we jump at the chance. The families they select have such a great need, that we are thrilled to be a part of the production."
In fact, the hood used is the Sonoma model that is a Copperworks exclusive design. The shows designers chose this hood to complete the classic look for the kitchen. The team at Copperworks worked quickly to get this hood ready for the show and on a truck to Pennsylvania.
Also in that shipment was a copper countertop with a matte finish and a cutout for a cooktop. The countertop is for a kitchen island that stands apart from the rest of the workspaces in kitchen and allows the single mom to keep an eye on her young daughter while preparing a meal.
Mr. Cain adds, "We have been making copper hoods and countertops for nearly 30 years, but this is, by far, the most satisfying project. Knowing that the copper we worked on will brighten the kitchen of this young woman, our coppersmiths were proud to do the work."
And their pride shows. As with all episodes, the polished copper hood and copper countertop are revealed at the end of the show to an awestruck family. The hood gleams as it creates a central focal point to the kitchen with the countertop as a primary area to gather. This is one show that always has a happy ending, and, this time, it includes Copperworks.
