Collex Collision Experts Continues Their Wheels Of Hope Program and Those in Need Continue to Be Blessed
Online, May 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - DETROIT, MI - May 14, 2010 - Collex Collision Experts owns more collision center repair locations than any other company in the Detroit metropolitan area. This thriving business is, however, different from many other similarly sized companies. While others have found themselves in the position of pulling back from charitable efforts due to economical constraints, Collex Collision Experts has redoubled efforts to give back to the local community through the Wheels Of Hope benevolence car program. More than ever, Collex Collision Experts knows that Americans, and single mothers in particular, need a helping hand.
Beneficiaries of the Wheels of Hope program are also the recipients of free car insurance for one year, and they are given $1,000 for gas money, road service and vehicle maintenance training. Collex Collision Experts originally founded the Wheels of HOPE in Michigan and later expanded the program to Florida where they have a Collex Collision Experts location. 2010 will be the fourth year the program will be offered in Florida. Wheels of HOPE offers charitable assistance to families that need to "get on the road to a brighter future."
In 2009, Collex Collision Experts partnered with Florida organizations One by One Leadership, the Naples Shelter for Abused Women and the Traffic Safety Association to identify needy individuals who lacked reliable transportation. "Collex Collision Experts is committed to find little ways to give back to the community," reported Julie Gagliano, the community relations director of Collex Collision Experts. She continued, "We feel that it is a good thing to do to help others and give back to the community."
Collex Collision Experts employees volunteer their time to fix donated vehicles. "Our employees love it and they all get involved and take a lot of pride in their work," Gagliano said. "They do a very nice job and they treat it like it is a regular job coming through."
Last year, Collex Collision Experts vehicles donated through the program included a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van and a 2006 Hyundai Elantra. The team at Collex Collision Experts views Wheels of HOPE as a community project. Collex Collision Experts employees recognize that without the community coming together to donate vehicles, the Wheels of HOPE program would not be a success.
Collex Collision Experts appreciates the businesses that donate automobile parts so that the vehicles will look and run new. The big donation last year was a new engine for the van. Collex Collision Experts puts together committee of 10 people to review requests for assistance, and to research and confirm authentic needs.
This committee narrows the choices down to three individuals. Management at Collex Collision Experts conducts personal interviews and then chooses the final two most deserving women. Requirements for consideration include the following: An applicant must be a single parent who is working or going to school, does not own a vehicle, has a good driving record and no criminal record.
Each year as the cars are awarded Collex Collision Experts hosts a celebration with Collex employees, donors, families and the winners in attendance. Winners drive their new cars home, and employees of Collex Collision Experts are blessed by blessing someone else. Through it all, this Detroit company is living a commitment to reach out to their world with the good news of Jesus. Collex Collision Experts' values shine through the event as they assist the needy "widows and orphans", living in their community.
