Clean the World Foundation Announces the Drop by Drop Project in Partnership With Las Vegas Sands
Global health leader and Fortune 500 company collaborate on an exciting new initiative to invest in regional water projects.
ORLANDO, Fla., October 17, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Today, Clean the World Foundation, a global leader in water, sanitation and hygiene and sustainability, announced a new water program in partnership with Las Vegas Sands Corp (NYSE: LVS). The Drop by Drop Project is a collaborative initiative that sets out to reinvest capital from water stewardship efforts into innovative projects, supporting local communities in Las Vegas, Macao and Singapore.
The Drop by Drop Project will invest in programs that focus on four key topics:
· Reinvigorating ecosystems by safeguarding and restoring aquatic ecosystems.
· Leveraging technologies by promoting early-stage innovation and solutions scaling for water efficiency.
· Increasing resiliency by strengthening community response to floods, droughts and other water-related risks.
· Engaging the community by boosting awareness of water dependence issues.
"When Las Vegas Sands came to us with the idea for the Drop by Drop Project, we were thrilled to expand our long-standing partnership," said Sam Stephens, Executive Director of Clean the World Foundation. "Many people don't realize how important water is – for our communities and for our ecosystems – and we can't wait to see the impact we make by supporting local organizations trying to make a difference."
Las Vegas Sands, a developer and operator of world-class luxury resorts, carries out global sustainability initiatives through its Sands ECO360 program. This new sustainability initiative will use water savings from the company’s conservation programs to support The Drop by Drop Project and will be managed and operated by Clean the World Foundation.
"The start of this project stems from our commitment to water stewardship, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and our long-standing partnership with Clean the World," said Katarina Tesarova, vice president of global sustainability for Las Vegas Sands. "We are proud to expand our relationship with the Foundation to focus on new emerging water issues and look forward to positively impacting the communities and environments in these locations."
From now until Nov. 30, Clean the World Foundation is accepting applications for projects aiming to impact environments and communities in Las Vegas, Macao and Singapore. Nonprofit organizations focusing on water ecosystems, technologies, resiliency and engagement are encouraged to apply for funding.
