Clean Tech Innovator of Year Nominations Sought

Online, July 2, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Sacramento, Calif. - Clean Tech Innovator of the Year award nominations for 2013 now are being sought bySARTA CleanStart .

The Clean Tech Innovator of the Year award recognizes an individual from the Sacramento region for creativity, novelty, application, importance, commercialization and effectiveness of a clean tech innovation. This year's recipient will be announced and the award presented at theCleanStart Showcase on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.

Self-nominations or nominations of a colleague via the online formare due by Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, with winners notified by Monday, Sept. 30.

"This prestigious award generates a high level of visibility for its recipient and we expect to receive a large number of competitive nominations," said Gary Simon, chair of SARTA CleanStart. "We continue to see numerous clean tech breakthroughs coming from the Sacramento region, and this is a great opportunity to recognize those innovations."

Award winners will be selected by a panel of regional business leaders and educators.

Michael Kuhlmann, chief executive officer of Rancho Cordova-based RCS Technology, won the 2012 award, and Raju Pandey, chief technology officer at Folsom-based SynapSense Corp., in 2011 was the inaugural honoree.

Sacramento region clean tech revenues in 2012 grew by 29 percent to over $2.1 billion, while employment grew by 31 percent to more than 3,200.
