CJ Bronstrup Named Winner Of The Most Outrageous Advertiser Contest

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - FEBRUARY 2010 - CJ Bronstrup's outrageous advertisements, marketing and videos often poke fun at his unconventional approach to online marketing, but those tactics have recently earned him a major marketing award as the Most Outrageous Advertiser at the Outrageous Advertising Academy Awards ceremony.

Over 600 of the world's top advertising and marketing professionals from around the globe gathered to cast their votes for their favorite Outrageous Advertising campaign. CJ Bronstrup was voted the winner and honored at the ceremony hosted by Bill Glazer, president of Glazer-Kennedy Insider's Circle and the author of the #1 Best Seller: Outrageous Advertising That's Outrageously Successful.

CJ beat out over 50 entries including a former McDonalds Marketing Director and co-creator of the famed "Happy Meal" to win the Outrages Advertising Contest. CJ's "Grumpy Old Man" video webpage, which was his submission for this contest, pushed him ahead of 50 other entries.

In today's economy selling a house seems daunting. Not so for CJ. He just put his outrageous marketing skills to work and was able to sell his home in NE Ohio... Between the holidays... And for his asking price IN JUST TWO DAYS, defying the expectations of all the realtors he talked to. This gave him just enough time to enter the contest before the deadline.

"Ironically, the site did not mention the size of the house, the price or have ANY pictures of the house, and yet I still got eight showings in two days," he said. "It was all about telling the 'story'. The key was using an unconventional, highly entertaining video and site and getting that video listed at the top of the first page on Google in less than four hours." CJ went on to show the audience exactly how he achieved that page ranking and how he built the site.

We caught up with CJ later that week, and asked if he was able to find a house that quickly. His reply?

"Of course. I looked at 14 houses in 2 days, put in a bid on two the second day and bought one that afternoon. It only takes 2 days to sell a house... Certainly it shouldn't take longer than that to buy one."

Did he pay THEIR asking price? "Well, nooo," he said slowly. "But then again, they didn't have an outrageous marketer working for them to get a buyer frenzy going."
