Cimbria Capital Announces Dr. Olufemi Osidele as Senior Regulatory Advisor
HOUSTON, October 20, 2021 (Newswire.com) - Cimbria Capital is pleased to announce that Dr. Olufemi Osidele has joined the firm as Senior Regulatory Advisor. As a former Senior Research Engineer at the Southwest Research Institute responsible for risk, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance assessments, Dr. Osidele will augment Cimbria's understanding of emerging regulatory frameworks influencing the Water Economy.
Before Cimbria, Dr. Osidele served seven years on the National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology, where he led three working groups on sustainability, citizen science and strategic workforce planning to produce more than 60 national policy recommendations to the Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Dr. Osidele recently co-chaired the Steering Committee for SA Climate Ready—a project that developed a Climate Action and Adaptation Plan for the City of San Antonio, Texas—where he coordinated the Energy & Buildings Technical Working Group to identify policies, evaluate strategies, and prioritize actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build resilience to the unavoidable impacts of climate change.
"At Cimbria, we believe a sophisticated understanding of regulations affecting the Water Economy can help our partner companies better target, or even shape, niche markets for their solutions," said Brian V. Iversen, Founder and Managing Partner of Cimbria Capital. "Dr. Osidele's numerous regulatory recommendations for the US EPA and track record as a trained hydrologist make him an ideal fit as a Senior Regulatory Advisor for the Oasis Funds."
"Regulations are a key driver and arguably the most significant source of uncertainty and risk in water policy and program implementation worldwide," stated Dr. Osidele. "By placing senior focus on regulatory due diligence in private investment decision-making, Cimbria is taking strong leadership in advancing the Water Economy."
Government Regulation, ESG, Climate Change, and Industry 4.0 are creating investment opportunities to tackle the fundamental imbalance of fixed supply water and increasing demand in the water-energy-food nexus. Private companies in the Water Economy present attractive investment characteristics thanks to widespread growth in these trends. Tested private equity firms with hands-on investment teams and subject-matter specialists in the Water Economy are essential to ensuring portfolio companies are well-positioned for the acceleration of the market.
