University Crossroads is the redevelopment of the former Holiday Inn site across from the Virginia Tech campus. It is conveniently located on the corner of Prices Fork Road and University City Boulevard. The development will include two retail buildings, two hotels and a pharmacy. The Panda Express and Tropical Smoothie Café will be part of the new retail building facing Prices Fork Road and will open Summer 2016.

Panda Express, a fast casual Chinese restaurant, will occupy over 2,500 square feet and serve items including orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp and Shanghai Angus steak. The restaurant will feature outdoor seating as well as a drive thru; so guests will be able to enjoy sitting outside, inside or using the drive thru when in a hurry.
Tropical Smoothie Café is the leading fast casual café concept known for its better-for-you food and smoothies with a tropical twist. The owner, Jon Cash, is a franchisee who also owns another very successful location in Lynchburg and is very excited about bringing Tropical Smoothie Café to Blacksburg.

Rebkee is developing the CVS pharmacy as well as the 8,203 square foot retail building facing University City Boulevard. CIBMM, LLC is developing the new 123-room Hyatt Place and 126-room Marriott Residence Inn along with the 18,360 square foot retail building facing Prices Fork Road. University Crossroads will provide more than 185 jobs to the local economy. The company also expects the project to increase Blacksburg’s annual tax revenues by $1.8 million and Montgomery County’s by $900k.
