China Central Television (Cctv6) Visited Velassaru

China Central Television 6(CCTV6), China's only national TV media reporting films and tourism, visited Velassaru from 02nd to 4th August 2012. They will make two tourism documentaries covering Maldives and they have decided to include Velassaru Maldives as a perfect romantic gateway for couples.

This program has received many Chinese and international television awards and it will give Chinese audience a deep introduction of Maldives. Program will be broadcasted across China and they have the audience of nearly 50 million people. The program has ten years history and has done documentaries of more than 60 countries around the world.

They had been shooting a number of locations during their stay at Velassaru Maldives (http://www.velassaru.com), from different room categories to dining venues, watersport activities and Spa facilities. Ms. Julia Wang, TV presenter had the opportunity to experience everything Velassaru has to offer and present this to Chinese TV audience.


Velassaru Presented South African Braai

Velassaru Maldives (http://www.velassaru.com) was pleased to organize a special dinner event - South African Braai, typical South African BBQ on 9th August at Sand restaurant. It was presented by our South African chef Ishal and famous South African wine sommelier, Garth Beer, currently working as a Head Sommelier at OKKU Luxury Japanese Restaurant and Lounge in Dubai.

Before joining OKKU, Garth was the Head Sommelier of Dubai's Premium Private Business Club, which caters to Elite Business community not only in Dubai but the broader GCC market. Before moving to Dubai, Garth was based in Cape Town where he worked for ex- Gordon Ramsay chef, Bruce Robertson at South Africa's top 10 restaurants. He has been nominated on 2 occasions for Hotelier Magazines Sommelier of the Year Award, finishing in the top 5 in 2009 and 2010. He is writing for several magazines' wine sections, like Tonique magazine and Aqua Vitae magazine, which is the premium lifestyle magazine.

Garth held a small wine class presentation where guests had the opportunity to learn how to choose wines for different occasions.
