They have been issued two design patents for their unique combs by the United States Patent Office — one for each of their two flagship products, the design of their Number 1 and Number 2 combs.

The Chicago Comb Company was founded by two childhood friends, John and Tedd, in 2010. Since starting their business, they have seen a steady growth in sales year after year, and the combs are now featured in retailers in 23 countries across the world.
