Chang Sensory Trails, the Thai Food, Music, and Art Experience Returns to California on June 16 in Los Angeles

This culinary adventure will be curated by famed chefs, Chef Louis and Chef Bao Bao at the Hollywood Palladium

Chang Sensory Trails (CST) returns to Los Angeles for its third annual Thai food, music, and art experience. Chang Beer, Thailand’s leading beer brand, will be at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium’s parking lot (entrance on Selma Avenue) on June 16, which is designed to offer guests a multi-sensorial culinary playground designed to bring iconic Thai flavors to the L.A. food scene.

At its core, Chang Sensory Trails is a global platform that introduces Thai food culture to the world through its exotic and tantalizing flavors in a full-day event. After a hugely successful turnout in London, Chang Sensory Trails is making Los Angeles its second stop on its global tour, returning to America for a third year running. This free-to-enter (must be 21 and over to attend), unticketed event is scheduled for June 16 from 12 p.m.-9 p.m. and will offer the world to its modern and refreshing take on Thai food, art and music.

The festival also serves as an experiential embodiment of the Thai philosophy of Lamiat. This philosophy inspires us to pay attention to the details and look beyond the ordinary, as it is underpinned by a deep and authentic appreciation that it is the small things that refines and produces perfection. Guests will be able to experience and appreciate what brought Chang beer and Chang Sensory Trails to life, because after all, Lamiat is in everything we do.

At CST, there is a story behind every bite. Curated by Chef Suchanan Aksornnan, better known as Chef Bao Bao, of Baoburg in Brooklyn, New York. All the dishes are crafted to introduce the complexities of Thai ingredients as well as entice guests to try pairing Chang Beer with various popular Thai dishes. Guests will be in good hands with Chef Bao Bao. She was recognized by Zagat as one of “30 Under 30” culinary rising stars in NYC and featured in numerous food & dining publications. She was also one of the contestants in a popular Esquire Network TV show, “Knife Fight”. Recently, Thrillist.com recognized her as one of 11 “The Most Badass Female Chefs in New York”.

Australian-born, Chef Louis Tikaram will emcee the CST Chef’s Table VIP experience during the event as Chang Beer’s Chef Ambassador. Chang Beer selected Chef Louis as its ambassador since he embodies the Thai philosophy of Lamiat, which is a brand ethos that Chang Beer is born from. From the conceptualizing his masterpiece dishes to using the finest ingredients and infusing his passion in all his cooking, this philosophy inspires us to pay attention to the details and look beyond the ordinary, as it is underpinned by a deep and authentic appreciation that it is the small things that refines and produces perfection. The careful curation of ingredients that go into each dish is how he exemplifies his Lamiat.

He developed his passion for food as a child from his Fijian-Chinese grandmother, Collette. The passion and adoration for Thai culture grew while living in Fiji as a pre-teen. Chef Louis trained in one of Sydney’s most prestigious restaurants and refined his craft by cooking in kitchens from Barcelona to New York. His talents earned him a “Young Chef of the Year” award in 2014. He is the executive chef at one of LA’s hottest dining spots E.P. & L.P., where he incorporates Southern California’s fresh produce into dishes inspired by his unique cultural heritage.

This year’s Chang Sensory Trail promises to be a delicious feast for the senses.
