Certification in accordance with ITIL® and ISO/IEC 20000 now also offered by TÃœV SÃœD in India

The Best Practice Framework ITIL® and certification according to ISO/IEC 20000 have now developed into global industry standards. TÃœV SÃœD Academy now also offers these certifications of persons in India, thus enabling companies operating at global level to ensure uniform training and quality standards for their IT professionals. Employees, in turn, benefit from the fact that their certificates are becoming increasingly firmly established at both Asia-Pacific and global level. These certificates form the foundation for building an international career in the IT sector.

Nowadays, IT plays a critical part in the achievement of corporate objectives. Given this, the safety, availability and reliability of IT services are indispensable. For IT professionals, whether operating in separate companies or in IT units of multinationals, this in turn means that service quality, customer focus and cost-awareness are the drivers of success. Important guides in this context are the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and the ISO/IEC 20000 standard for IT Service Management (ITSM).

TÃœV SÃœD Academy has been certifying IT professionals in accordance with these de facto industry standards for years and is now set to expand its service offer to the Asia-Pacific region. The first step of its expansion is India. "India has developed into a major market for IT services, and many of the companies which are also represented in Asia request global uniformity in training and examination standards for their staff", explains Kai Probst, CEO of TÃœV SÃœD Academy. TÃœV SÃœD Academy is happy to satisfy this demand with an appropriate portfolio of services in India. TÃœV SÃœD is already represented at numerous locations and with a host of services in the Asia-Pacific region. "Our global network of locations enables us to offer our clients certification in accordance with globally uniform standards, and thus clear value-added", continues Probst. In India, TÃœV SÃœD is represented today at 12 locations employing around 800 staff. Certification as per ITIL and ITSM will be offered with immediate effect at all locations for example in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi.

With respect to the certification of IT professionals as per ITIL, TÃœV SÃœD Academy is one of only nine organizations worldwide with accreditation to provide this service. The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a framework of best practice approaches from all over the world that have been collected and made accessible to everybody, i.e. a virtual library used by IT specialists from around the world. In the current ITIL Version 3, the Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation and Continual Service Improvement modules reflect the "lifecycle of services" which is the basis of the new library. ITIL defines the organizational framework, while supplying exact rules of conduct for IT specialists. A "walk" through this library provides clear insights into the processes, structures and interrelations of individual services. The Certification Body for Persons of TÃœV SÃœD Academy organizes and holds examinations as per ITIL versions 2 and 3. The modular system provides qualifications up to the level of ITIL Master. The qualification and examination system is flexible and also offers upgrades from version 2 to version 3, for example.

TÃœV SÃœD Academy also organizes certification of persons according to ISO/IEC 20000, the relevant international standard for IT Service Management (ITSM). ITSM qualification covers management, processes and results at the customer's organization - on an international and standardized basis. Training and certification are offered up to the level of Executive Consultant/Manager or Executive Auditor in ITSM as per ISO/IEC 20000.
