Celebrity Chef/ Award Winning Author Maria Liberati Hosts New National PBS TV Series

Hatfiled, Pennsylvania , March 4, 2016 (Newswire.com) - PBS will be turning the book series and blog, The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria Liberati tm by award winning author and Celebrity Chef, Maria Liberati, into a culinary travel series, of the same name The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria Liberati tm--where food meets art, travel and life.

The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria  Liberati tm captures the essence of Italy from not only it’s recipes and foods, but also the relationship food has to Italy’s art and diverse culture.

The first season will explore some of Italy’s most charming and historical spots that have specific dishes and ingredients tied to their culture and history. The second season may also explore Italian culture and food in other countries around the world.

The Basic Art of Italian Cooking series began with a small coffee table book written by Liberati. The book includes an array of recipes and menus, but it’s true character  comes from Liberati’s personal stories that tie the recipes to places, faces, history and culture in Italy based on her life on her country farm in the mountains of Italy.

In 2010, the Basic Art of Italian Cooking book series was awarded the Gourmand World Awards in Paris, France. Liberati’s blog was selected as the Culinary Travel Blog of the Year in 2013 by the New York Travel Writers’ Society.

The blog/book series and its' popularity have grown to 300,000 worldwide followers.
